1. Autogenous grinding: Larger ore particles act as grinding media, crushing smaller particles, similar to AG Mill.
2. Steel balls assistance: A portion (typically 6–15% of the mill volume) of steel balls is added to increase impact force, improve grinding speed, and reduce processing time.
3. Rotational motion: The cylindrical drum rotates, lifting the ore and steel balls, which then fall freely, applying pressure and impact to grind the material.
